- 5 eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Gouda cheese
- 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 ripe pear
- freshly ground pepper and nutmeg, to taste
- One 9-inch pie shell (homemade or purchased), pre-baked until very pale
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Whisk eggs in a medium bowl; add cream and combine.
Sprinkle cheese, bacon, and pear in pie shell. Season with pepper and nutmeg. Pour the egg mixture on top carefully.
Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until just puffed all the way across.
